The End of Masked Performers?

Ever since clip stores got tighter on verifying performers, there were those with concerns that this could spell the end of masked performers.
At the simplest, how can you be sure the person verified and tagged is the person in the clip if you don’t see their face?

Not just masked performers, but those who crop below their face, or blur. Or, of course, stunt cocks in POV blowjob/sex scenes.

However this was 2022, it’s now 2026, and aside from some who preferred not to use masked performers (and someone saying you couldn’t on DVD distribution) I’d never heard of anyone having any problems.

Until now.

A friend woke up to this message from Faphouse

For additional verification provide a selfie(s) of the performer(s) starring in the video (face must be seen) or a screenshot(s) of the uncensored version of the video by contacting us via our Contact Form https://faphouse.com/support/contact One of the following conditions must be met: •An element of decor/furniture/background appearing in the video is also seen in the selfie •In the selfie the performers are wearing one or more items of clothing that also appear in the video •In the case of sending nude photos of the performers, distinctive body parts/marks/tattoos must be visible in the video.

Upon investigation it was a performer she had worked with a few times who was masked.

The big problem with a lot of rules and regs is when they come in they come in active immediate, which makes it very difficult to plan for.
So unless you were convinced masked performers would become an issue and either (a) not worked with them (b) tried a whole bunch of precautionary photos/videos – then most people will be unprepared.
The requirements from faphouse, for example, is very easy to sort on the day. Less so six months down the line.
There is also then the question on if other sites will follow suit. And, as often the case, whether verification they will permit will be consistent?

For me it almost has to be done on the day. For example, that given a lot of, particularly subs, film nude – there isn’t going to be a matching outfit. While distinctive marks could help, a lot who hide their identity do also hide tattoos/etc. How a stunt cock will prove it is really their cock might also be questionable unless there really is something unique about it.
There is also the reliability of tracking down performers months after the shoot, or asking for something they might not understand or agree to.
For example that they were masked/faceless on film, would they agree to send photos/videos of themselves unmasked that shows they are the person in the film? Especially when as far as they were concerned this wasn’t a requirement at the time.

So first off. Take this as a bottom line this is looking more likely to be a requirement.
That if you are masked/faceless and filming then you will need to do further steps other than the pose with ID.

It is difficult to wholly second guess the best steps because it’s unclear if and when other sites will follow suit and we only have what faphouse will accept.
My suggestions would be to film a couple of extra seconds at the start an end of the clip which includes performers putting masks on, and taking them off – or where a face is cropped out, starting in frame and then zooming/panning out of shot.

Obviously this then does put extra pressure on making sure this footage is available, but cut out of footage that’s placed online. An extra level of risk!

An alternative suggestion is of course a lot of photos at the venue and together and so on on the day. These are at least a nice keepsake also, and, depending on privacy, may be stuff you all agree can be posted as promo depending on the reason for wearing a mask.

Whatever you do do, now the warning shot is fired the only thing you shouldn’t do is nothing, because there is every chance it will bite a few in the ass if there’s not a little extra prep done.

The plus, I guess, is this isn’t necessarily the end of masked performers. But it certainly is a need for extra work.
